Attorney Mark D. Kopp
Mark Kopp graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and was admitted to the bar that same year. A shareholder at the firm since 1994, Mr. Kopp has been an attorney with Consigny Law Firm, S.C.
since his admission to the bar.
A member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Rock County Bar Association, Mr. Kopp is licensed to practice in all Wisconsin state courts and in the U.S. District Court. He primarily practices in the area of family law
(including, but not limited to, divorce and guardianships), municipal law and trial law.
Mr. Kopp knows that the role of an attorney, especially a family law attorney, is to help people solve their problems. Because attorneys can have a tremendous impact on people's lives, they must keep in mind that their actions affect real people, not abstractions. An advocate for the rights of all people, regardless of economic status, his efforts for a financially disadvantaged clients was featured in the Wisconsin Lawyer magazine.
Mr. Kopp and his wife, Marjorie, have three grown sons', Neil, Brock
and Ian, and a wonderful granddaughter Brinley. In his free time
he enjoys downhill skiing, golf, and Packer and Badger football. He was previously active in coaching Janesville Youth Football, Little League and sports sponsored by the YMCA. Mr. Kopp continues his involvement in the community and in his profession. He currently serves as a member of the Rock County Bench/Bar Committee and is a former member of the Rock County Bar Executive Committee. He serves the Wisconsin State Bar as a member of the Fee Arbitration Panel. Mr. Kopp is also the past Chairman of the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission and is a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He is active in his church as an usher, greeter, the current Chairman of the Staff Parish Relations Committee and past Chair of the Church Council. He was previously a volunteer for the Jefferson Elementary School Breakfast Club until the program was discontinued. Mr. Kopp is also proud to be on the Community Board of Directors for the Health Mercy System, Rock County's largest employer.
