Attorney Richard E. Hemming, Of Counsel
After his admission to the Wisconsin State Bar in 1965, Mr. Hemming established a general practice with emphasis on courtroom trial work. He was active in the firm until he reached Of Counsel status in 2014. He was involved in more than 100 jury trials and argued cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals.
Mr. Hemming received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1962 and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1965. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
An attorney is a personal counselor, arbitrator, negotiator, advocate, and conciliator who has a responsibility to his client to deliver the best representation in every case. He believes that an attorney’s job is not complete until he has attained the best legal result possible for his client.
Mr. Hemming has served as President and Director of the Janesville Chamber of Commerce, now Forward Janesville, and served two terms on the Janesville School Board. Because of his dedication he has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Janesville Jaycees, the Janesville School Board Service Award, and the Chamber of Commerce President’s Gavel Award. He has also received the Outstanding Service Award from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
A Janesville native, he has four children. Mr. Hemming is a member of the University of Wisconsin National “W” Club, having earned two varsity letters in baseball. Mr. Hemming enjoys bicycle racing and downhill skiing.
